Billy Gene Bohannon, Sr.
Age 78, of Dayton went home to be with the Lord Thursday, April 21, 2011 at his home after an extended illness.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, Guy & Clara E. Bohannon; three brothers, Estel, Henry & Birch Bohannon; and by two sisters, Elise Linehan & Christine Rucker.
Billy is survived by his wife of the past 59 years, Barbara A. (Stidham) Bohannon; four children, Teresa K. (Michael) Bertram, Billy G. Jr. (Valeri) Bohannon, Danny L. (Janice) Bohannon & Rebecca A. (Richard) Noble; 19 grandchildren, Jean, Jason (Angie), Michael, Nathaniel, Billy G. III (Eve), Cassandra, Teressa, Jodie, Craig, Tiffany, Ray, Charles (Tomalena), Timothy, April, Amy & Richard; 13 great grandchildren, Ian, Angelina, Dustin, Billy G. IV, Kaylee, Kyle, Miranda, Autumn, Dankia, Dryden, Aidan, Carter & Clyde; four brothers, Bobby (his twin brother), James (June), Gerald (Becky) & Fred (Darlene) Bohannon; one sister, Gladys Miller; numerous nieces & nephews; and by his extended family & many good friends.
Billy worked for over 30 years at McCalls-Dayton Press and then retired from Rosenthal in 1996. He was a talented mechanic and could fix anything. His motto was, "If you can make it, I can fix it."
The family will be receiving friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Monday (4/25) at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 4101 Needmore Road, Dayton. Funeral services will be held at the funeral home at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday with interment to follow at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery.
