Billy G. Smith, a beloved figure and esteemed Master ASE Certified Mechanic, passed away on May 7, 2025, in Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 92. Born on August 29, 1932, in Harlan, Kentucky, Billy dedicated his life to his family, career, and the joy of living.

Billy graduated from Kiser High School in 1950. Throughout his professional journey, Billy made significant contributions to the automotive field, serving as a mechanic for prominent companies such as General Motors, Orbit, S&D, and Lang's. His expertise and dedication earned him the respect of both colleagues and customers alike.

Billy was a man of many passions. He was not only proud of his career but also radiated joy when recounting memories spent with his family. His love for adventure was evident in the cherished moments he had riding around in a golf cart, attending concerts, and enjoying a memorable Kiss cruise with his children. He delighted in taking them on a trip to Alaska and often fondly recalled visits to Frisch's Drive-Thru, where he would playfully encourage everyone to "Be Cool."

Known for his happy-go-lucky demeanor, Billy was described as quiet yet caring, embodying a spirit that uplifted those around him. His personal interests included a deep affection for his Triumph motorcycle, his prized 1936 Ford Coupe, and the companionship of his beloved family, friends, and pets.

Billy served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War, a time that shaped his character and sense of duty. He took great pride in his role as a father, always cherishing his children and the close-knit family he nurtured. He is survived by his children: Vicki Smith, Joey Smith, Tricia (Louie Zinzigk) Smith, Christina Shepherd, and Amber Shepherd; his seven grandsons; four granddaughters; two great-grandsons; numerous nieces and nephews. He also leaves behind his best friend Bill Fessenden and great friend Jason Fessenden, along with his beloved grand-dogs, Bailey and Buster.

Billy will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him, especially his children who carry on his legacy of love and pride.
