If you are dropping off another stray animal, stop! Billie Joyce Gordon who lived on Beatrice Drive peacefully passed February 27, 2016 and will no longer be available to care for it. However, her spirit will be carried on by her three children, Brian Gordon and fiancé Sharon, Nona (Russell) Bailey, Renee (Shawn) Huegele; brother Bob Steele; dog Lucy; cat Dan; 9 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She joined her beloved husband Ron "Butch" Gordon; son Tony Gordon; parents Roy and Helena Payne; sister Nancy Seer and grandson, Jeremy in Heaven. Billie leaves an extended family and friends and strangers she would have loved to meet from every walk of life. We were blessed to learn many lessons from Billie in her 75 years, including: never meet a stranger, even if they pass out in your yard. Always feed your family and friends. Let a dog or two and a few cats share your bed. Invite friends and family to Thanksgiving dinner. Have an open door to misbehaving kids (and always have a soft spot for the bad ones). Fight with passion. Be a good listener but always have an opinion. Give to every charity that asks and buy from QVC even when you are broke. Allow homeless people to move in and pet a raccoon you could not get out of the house with a broom. Above all, love and give until you have nothing left. Billie worked at Dayton Press for 24 years, Mad River Schools as a bus aide for 10 years and baby sat for so many kids, they are too numerous to name. Please join our family in remembering Billie's journey at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, for a visitation on Sunday, March 6, 2016 from 5pm-7pm with a funeral service to follow on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 10:30am. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the family.
