Betty Steinkamp, 91, Waynesville Ohio, formerly of Florida, went to the loving arms of the Lord on January 26,2026. Betty was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Richard Steinkamp, and her loving son, Charles Reagan III. She is survived by her children Brenda Royse, Pat Thompson, Cindy Kuhr (Craig), Steve Vaughn (Jan), Sherry McTigue (Ed), and Rhonda South. She also has two brothers, Jimmy Tranthem (Gerri), and Fred Tranthem. She is survived by 16 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Betty spent her life working in several arenas that served the public, but enjoyed her experience working in bookkeeping departments for banks or medical radiology labs.
Betty was a light in the lives of so many. She shared her loving and kind spirit with all who met her. She adored connecting with people and had a very social nature. She made friends on all avenues of her life. She was quick-witted and eager to share laughter and love with others. People were drawn to her kind spirit and often sought her out. Something about speaking with Betty just made you feel better about yourself. During her conversation with you, she would have left a compliment in your life. Betty was resilient when obstacles came her way and shared that hope and gift with others.
Betty’s happiness was most evident when she was with family. She loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She would light up when speaking to them and hearing about their lives. She would travel to support her grandchildren in different sporting events and school programs. The measurement of her great joy could be seen when she was spending time with those that she loved.
Betty and Richard spent much of their time enjoying trips and adventures with family and friends. Betty’s desire to spend time with family resulted in many fun family gatherings over the years. Betty and Richard generously invited family and friends to enjoy the magic of Disney in Florida, where Richard worked security after retirement. It was not uncommon for them to take friends and family to experience the parks. They were square dancers and traveled to different venues to enjoy the friendships that came with it. They were also graceful and beautiful to watch with their ballroom dancing skills. It was a sight to see on the dance floor.
Betty’s love for her Christian faith was revealed in her kindness, forgiveness, and prayers for all. She was an inspiration to many, and we were blessed to have had her in our lives.
