Betty Roberts, a cherished soul whose life was woven with kindness and thoughtfulness, passed away on May 17, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on October 23, 1940, in Mt. Vernon, Kentucky, Betty's journey was marked by dedication, love, and a spirited embrace of life’s pleasures.
Betty graduated from Stivers High School and embarked on a remarkable career with Chrysler, where her steadfast commitment spanned thirty years until her retirement. Her work was not just a job but a testament to her resilience and unwavering work ethic.
Beyond her professional life, Betty was a beloved member of the Order of the Eastern Star, an organization that reflected her devotion to community and fellowship. She delighted in life’s simple joys—whether it was enjoying a lively game of cards, indulging in casino outings, vacationing to explore new horizons, or quietly watching her favorite television shows. These moments were threads in the rich tapestry of her daily happiness, showcasing her vibrant spirit and love of life.
Those who knew Betty remember her as caring and thoughtful, a woman whose heart was as vast as her smile. She leaves behind a legacy of warmth and generosity that touched all who crossed her path.
Betty is lovingly survived by her daughter, Robin Maye; grandchildren Shana Savage (John), Michael Maye (Tiffany), and Ronald Maye (Stacy); and many great-grandchildren who carry forward her spirit into the next generations. She is also survived by her brother, Ray Lovell (Jeanie), her sister, Mary Gormican (Timothy), and nephews Justin Gormican (Christi) and Brandon Gormican. Her best friend, Sue Roberts, stood as a constant pillar of support and companionship through the years.
She joins in eternal rest her parents, Mollie and Verner Ballinger and Leonard Lovell; her brothers: Wendell Lovell and Wally Ballinger; and her aunt, Margaret Smith—dear family members who preceded her in death and now watch over her.
