Betty Jo Crichfield

Betty Jo Crichfield, age 76 of Dayton, Ohio formerly of Troy, Ohio passed away peacefully on January 27, 2026. She was born November 14, 1949 in Dayton, Ohio, daughter of the late William "Roger" Griffith and Frances Williams.

In addition to her parents, Betty Jo was preceded in death by her great granddaughter, Amore' Valerio.

Betty Jo was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She ended her employment after 10 plus years with SpringMeade Health Center Nursing Home in Tipp City, Ohio. She loved puzzles, jigsaw puzzles and going to Bingo. Betty Jo was an avid Betty Boop fan. Her pride and joy was her family and she spent as much time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren as she could. Betty Jo will be greatly missed by all who had the honor of knowing her.

She is survived by her children, Paul (Angel) Valerio and Michelle Valerio; grandchildren, Phylicia Valerio, Anthony (Taneisha) Valerio, Derrick Smith, Aaron (Libby) Valerio, Arieanna Hale, Miranda Valerio, and Andrew Valerio; 19 great grandchildren; former spouse, John Crichfield of Troy, Ohio; sisters, Jerry Hall of Las Vegas and Peggy (Michael) Seeberg of Urbana; step-sisters, Mindy Turner and Marsha Williams (Kenny); several nieces and nephews; as well as numerous other family members and friends.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, February 11, 2026 from 4-5pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. A memorial service will begin at 5pm also at the Funeral Home.

Memorial contributions can be made in Betty Jo's honor to Hospice of Dayton.
