Bettsy V. Samuels, a bright spirit cherished by many, was born on March 13, 1943, in Lynch Kentucky. She passed away peacefully in, Dayton Ohio, on October 16, 2025.
Bettsy was a woman who embodied happiness. Known for her cheerful demeanor and easygoing personality, she had a unique talent for lifting others, making her a beloved friend and companion to all who knew her. For 43 years, she shared her life with her husband, Robert "Elvis" Samuels, creating a journey filled with love and laughter. Together, they traveled across the United States and Canada, selling trinkets and souvenirs at various fairs, the traveling circus, and sporting events. It was during these adventures that Bettsy met countless friends, many of whom cherished her as family.
She had a profound love for her pets, particularly cats, and enjoyed woodworking cross stitching in her spare time when she could. Her passion for creativity and craftsmanship was a testament to her zest for life.
Bettsy leaves behind her husband, Robert "Elvis" Samuels; her sister, Jane Taylor; her brother-in-law, Leigh (Vera) Samuels; her nephew, John Taylor; and her niece, Deborah Blasik. She also leaves a close-knit group of good friends, including Maryann Shallow, Michael Shallow, Heather Shallow, Danny Shallow, Chris Schenck, Gina and Brian.
She is rejoined in spirit with her parents, William Stanley Sheppard and Thelma Louise Sheppard, her sisters, Ora Carolyn Farley and Patsy Ziegeler, and her best friend, Janet Jones. Bettsy's legacy of kindness, joy, and adventure will continue to thrive in the hearts of those who loved her.
