Beth Brown

Beth Renee Brown, née Garrison, 71, died peacefully at home surrounded by her family on September 26, 2026, in Xenia, OH.

Much beloved and award-winning carrier for Dayton Daily News for 35 years and for the Xenia Gazette for 30 years, she had many dear friends and not just customers; Dietary Manager at Echo Valley Nursing Home in Dayton, OH, and cashier at Fulmer’s Supermarket where she met her beloved husband of 40 years, Mark Brown.

Preceded in death by parents Earle and Marianne (née Weisent) of Columbus, OH; brother Eric (Karen Holman); and son, William Lee Hinkle, IV (Crystal).

Survived by children: daughter Amy (Michael) Kostic of Louisville, OH; son Andrew (Angie) Hinkle of Xenia; son Matthew (Carly Smith) Brown of Circleville, OH; and daughter Megan Brown of Xenia. Grandchildren: Eric Kostic, Kaitlynn Hinkle, Shelby (Cooper Lykins) Hinkle, William Lee Hinkle, V, and Lillian Hinkle. Spencer Hinkle and Cameron Hinkle. Conner Brown, Logan Brown, Madison Brown, Josie Smith, and Josiah Smith. And soon, a great grandchild.

Also survived by her brother, Scott Garrison of Columbus and sister, Mary R. Garrison of Urbana, OH.

Nieces and nephews: Amanda (Garrison) and Cameron VanTilburg, John Garrison, Joseph (Alaina) Garrison, and Kelley (Garrison) and Josh Davenport. Aaron (Autumn) Brown, Heather (Scott Adams) Brown, Jennifer (Scott) Hamlin, and Brittany Brown.

Graduate of Bishop Ready High School of Columbus, OH. She loved her Catholic faith and was a devout prayer of the rosary. She also loved flowers, coffee, The Wizard of Oz, reading, cooking, sweets, country décor steeped in the scent of cinnamon, garage sales, movies, and Sally Hansen nail polish, #270. Above all, her family was her whole world.

Friends may call on Friday, October 16, 2026, from 4:00PM-7:00PM with Rosary at 6:30PM at the Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton Xenia Road, Beavercreek, OH 45432. Mass of Christian Burial will held on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at 10:00AM at St. Brigid Catholic Church, 312 Fairground Road, Xenia, OH. Burial to follow at a later date. Donations in Beth’s memory can be made to St. Brigid Catholic Church, CCD program.

We take comfort in knowing that our beautiful momma has finally found her ultimate sanctuary and is now peacefully resting somewhere over the rainbow, where troubles melt like lemon drops. . .
