Benjamin John Stearns, 22, of Centerville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly on November 5, 2025.
Ben was born on August 28, 2003 and is survived by his loving parents, Steve and Kirsten, his older brother, Zach, three younger sisters, Elizabeth, Maddie, and Izzy, and his maternal grandmother, Kathleen Snider. He also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Bob Snider, and his paternal grandparents, John and Janet Stearns.
Ben graduated from Archbishop Alter High School in 2022 and went on to enroll in the Sports Administration program at the University of Cincinnati. He was set to earn his Bachelor’s degree next month and was looking forward to pursuing a Graduate Assistant position at either UC or George Mason University.
Ben loved playing sports, especially basketball, baseball, and golf. As a fan, he adopted his mom’s hometown teams - the Browns, Cavs, and Guardians. While he grew up following the Dayton Flyers, he switched his allegiances to the Bearcats when he enrolled at UC.
Ben’s love of sports extended to his work life as well. He was a reliable worker with a solid work ethic. He worked at Dayton Country Club for several years where he built many lasting friendships. He loved being around kids and always looked forward to the junior camp at DCC. Additionally, he spent time interning for UC athletics, the Cleveland Browns, and FC Cincinnati. He was truly living his dream.
Those he was closest with will remember the quiet way Ben went about spreading love and kindness. Ben loved spending time with his family and had a gift for making others laugh. He was always game for innocent mischief, something he passed on to his siblings, especially Maddie (Ben 2.0). His parents were always proud of the way he brought his siblings together, whether it was shooting hoops in the driveway or getting the bright idea to fill up a blow-up raft with all five kids and take it down the basement stairs. He always made sure to include everyone and was truly the glue of the family. His passing has left an unspeakable void in our hearts.
