Ben Stearns Jr., dear son, brother, uncle, companion, friend, and dog-lover passed away on November 8, 2016 after a brave fight with pancreatic cancer.
He was born to Ben(Sr) and Etta Stearns on July 20, 1954, at Keesler AFB, Biloxi, Miss. He grew up in Enon, attended Greenon High, served 6 years as a hospital corpsman in the USN Reserve, and graduated with a bachelor's degree from the University of South Carolina. He recently retired from the Clark County Dept of Job and Family Services.
Ben leaves to miss him his loved ones: fiancé, Amy Robertson; "special" daughter and grandchildren, Hope Robertson, Michael, Alex, and Angel; sisters Etta (Edwin) Royer and Nancy (Jerry) Jenkins; nephews David Sheldon and Jason and Adam Wingard, many family and friends and his beloved Beagles.
Interment will be on Monday, Dec 12, 2016, at Ferncliff Cemetery, Springfield, Ohio. Chapel service starts at 11AM; graveside services to immediately follow. Pastor Jeff Mohr officiating. Newcomer Funeral Home Kettering serving the family.
Ben's final act of selflessness was to be an organ donor.
