Barry Steven Smith

June 1, 1952 — April 17, 2024

Barry Steven Smith, age 71, fell asleep peacefully on April 17, 2024, at his home after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer . He was born on June 1, 1952, in McArthur Ohio to Donald and Georgia Smith. He was a resident of Beavercreek and was a 1970 graduate of Beavercreek High School. He married Sherie Layne Senter on October 14, 1978, in Miami Township, OH. He worked as a Certified Public Accountant and owned his own business for 35 years. Barry was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses on August 5, 1961, and his love for God was the cornerstone of his life. Beekeeping and gardening were his two biggest passions. He is survived by his wife, Sherie, two children, Jotham (Lindsey) Smith & Esther (Logan) Anderson; four grandchildren, Jocelyn & Eden Smith, Autumn & Peter Anderson, his mother, Georgia, and brother, Jedidiah. Preceding him in death was his son, Hosea Nathanael Smith (2010), his father Donald, as well as his brothers Guy and Aaron. His belief in the Bible's promised resurrection (John 5:28-29) sustained him, as it will now do so for his family and friends.
