Barbara "Bobbie" Sue Stewart

Barbara “Bobbie” Sue Stewart, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and cherished friend, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2026, in her hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on January 12, 1945, in Dayton, Bobbie was a radiant soul whose happiness and care profoundly touched all who knew her.

Bobbie’s life's journey was marked by dedication and warmth. After earning her associate's degree from the University of Cincinnati, she embarked on a meaningful career as an inventory specialist. Her entrepreneurial spirit led her to own the Subway restaurant in Englewood, a place where her love of people and passion for service came alive every day.

Her heart, however, truly belonged to her family. A devoted wife of 60 years to her loving husband Michael Stewart, Bobbie’s joy was found in the laughter and love shared within her family circle. She was the proud mother of sons Greg and wife, Danalynn Stewart, and Mark and wife, Tracie Stewart, who along with their children, filled her life with happiness. Her grandchildren Zachary (Kayla), Jacob (Dinah Welch), Christian (Katie), and Melaney (Aaron) were the bright stars in her world, each deeply touched by the love and kindness she freely gave.

Bobbie also held a special place in her heart for her sister Marsha (Chris) Birch and was surrounded by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends who knew her as a happy, caring presence who enriched their lives. She treasured moments spent boating and fishing, embraced the joy of playing cards, and most of all, delighted in cooking for her loved ones—each meal a delicious expression of her affection and generosity.

Her parents, Mark and Alberta Brumbaugh, preceded her in death, yet their legacy lived on in Bobbie’s nurturing nature and the love she so freely shared.

A graveside service to honor Barbara “Bobbie” Sue Stewart will be held on Saturday,  June 20, 2026, at 1:00 PM at Bethel Cemetery in Phillipsburg, Ohio. Though her physical presence will be deeply missed, the tender memories and the boundless love she left behind will continue to inspire and comfort all who were fortunate enough to know her.

In remembering Bobbie, we celebrate a life well-lived, marked by kindness, devotion, and the simple, profound happiness she brought to her family and friends every single day. Her spirit will forever sail gently on the waters she loved, and her legacy of love will remain a guiding light for generations to come.
