Barbara Ann Miles

Barbara Ann Miles, age 77, of Springfield, Ohio, passed away on September 10, 2026. She was born on January 29, 1949, in Keokee, Virginia.

Barbara will be remembered as a kind and selfless woman whose warm smile and friendly spirit touched everyone she met. She found joy in gardening and was happiest when surrounded by the people she loved most. Family was always at the center of her life, and she put them first in all things. She adored her children and grandchildren, and being a devoted grandmother was among the roles she cherished most. She especially enjoyed watching her grandson race motocross, a source of great pride and happiness for her.

She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Deak; grandson, Michael Deak; granddaughter, Kelli Miles; sisters, Peggy (Larry) Bailey and Darlene Hobbs; brother, Ron (Pat) Hobbs; her brother-in-law, Danny (Sharon) Saunders; special aunt, Janet Payne; and several nieces and nephews. 

Barbara is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Eddie L. Miles; parents, Millard C. and Emma Louise (Arnett) Hobbs; sons, Eddie L. Miles, Jr. and James Brian Miles; and daughter, Kelly Louise Miles; brother, Jeffrey Hobbs; and sister, Jennifer Hobbs. 

Barbara’s memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her through her gentleness, her devotion to her family, and the steady kindness she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

A Funeral Service will be held on Friday, September 18, 2026 at 10:30AM at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Dayton Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Family and friends may visit from 9:30AM until the time of service. Barbara will be laid to rest with her husband at Trissel Cemetery, S. Diamond Mill Rd, New Lebanon, Ohio 45345.
