Barbara Ann Messenger

Barbara Ann Messenger, age 76, of Dayton, passed away October 8, 2020, at Hospice of Dayton with her loving family by her side. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on December 17, 1943, the daughter of the late Walter and Pauline Heck.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Troy Messenger; and her brother, Richard Anthony Heck.
She is survived by her daughter, Joanne Messenger; grandchildren, Danny Messenger, Jackie Morgan, and Caleb Messenger; great grandchildren, Arianna, Niyah, Garrett, Jackson, Hayden and Delilah; step-great grandchildren, Kelsey and Abigail; brother, Ronnie Heck; and many other loving family and friends.
She was brought up with the Pentecostal faith and had a strong belief in God. In her free time, she enjoyed having a beer and her spaghetti dinners at the VFW. Her great grandchildren were a wonderful part of her life and she adored spending time with them and her beloved dog, Bear Bear.
Visitation will be held on Friday, October 16, 2020, from 12:30pm-1:30pm at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, where services will begin at 1:30pm. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
