Barbara G. Cochran

COCHRAN, Barbara G., “Barb,” age 79, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on May 2, 2026, at Ohio Hospice of Miami County. Barb was born on September 30, 1946, in Russellville, Ohio, and lived a life centered around her family, faith, and the people she loved most. She worked as an office clerk and in sales at several grocery stores and Macy’s, but her greatest and most cherished role in life was being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother.

Barb loved the Lord and found joy in attending worship. She had a true passion for gardening, and her beautiful flower gardens were recognized by the City of Huber Heights on two separate occasions. She was known for giving the best head rubs, for her incredibly big heart, and for loving her family with everything she had. Barb was the ultimate “hype” person—always encouraging, always supportive, and always proud of her children and grandchildren. She also had a special way of bringing comfort and joy through the little things, including making her family’s favorite biscuits and gravy.

She was preceded in death by her father, Julius S. Fetters; her mother, Mary Francis Fetters; her sisters, Suzanne Fry and Mary Jane Fetters; her brother, Charles Fetters; and her beloved granddaughter, Faith Tarburton.

She leaves behind a loving family who will miss her deeply, including her loving and devoted husband of nearly 50 years, William (Dave) Cochran; her sisters, Judy Thatcher and Nancy Applegate; her children, Deanna (Norm) Proulx, Tina Cochran, Jennifer (David) Shade, and Steffanie (Jeff) Tarburton; her grandchildren, Christopher Allison, Cailin (Toby) Allison, Parker (Shelby) Allison, Brooke Shade, Carson Shade, Ryleigh Tarburton, Reagan Tarburton, and Reese Tarburton; and her great-grandchildren, Eli Allison and Ben Allison. As well as, numerous nieces and nephews, family and friends.

Family and friends will be received from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, Ohio 45424. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 7, 2026, at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor David Starry.

On Friday, May 8, 2026 family and friends will gather at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton Ohio at 9:45 AM in the parking lot. We will then process over to the cemetery leaving at 10:00 AM for a 10:30 AM graveside service at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens, 8200 West National Road, New Carlisle, Ohio
