Barbara J. Frey

Barbara J. Frey, age 80 of Centerville, reunited with her husband, William "Ed" Frey on October 8, 2020. They were joined in holy matrimony in Plain City, OH on July 8, 1959. She was born on June 6, 1940 in Shoals, IN to the late Fielding Sterling and Minnie Rich. In addition to her husband and parents, Barbara was preceded in death by her siblings, Mary Jane Doane, Donald Sterling and Ernestine Earl.

She is survived by her two daughters, Susan (Greg) Garrett and Donna (Edward) Johnson; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Phil) Reasa, Jonathan Garrett, Jarrod Johnson and Caleb Johnson; great-granddaughter, Olivia Garrett; brother, Francis (Genny) Sterling and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and dear friends.

Barbara and Ed served as foster parents for over 30 children. She enjoyed cooking for her family and friends but most importantly she dearly loved her grandchildren and great-granddaughter.

Family will receive friends from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 17, 2020 at Newcomer Funeral Home, Centerville Chapel (820 Miamisburg-Centerville Rd., Dayton, 45459) where a funeral service will begin at 11:00 AM with Ministers Duane Mecklem and Aaron Levering officiating.
