Barbara Ann Farr, a cherished family member, passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025, at the age of 93. Born on March 9, 1932, in Dayton, Ohio, Barbara devoted her life to caring for her family and engaging in her numerous passions.
A proud graduate of Stivers High School with Honors in the Class of 1950, Barbara began her career at the Dayton Water Department, where she met the love of her life, Walton Farr. Their union was marked by deep affection and mutual respect, as they built a family together.
Barbara was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, exemplifying kindness, friendliness, and generosity throughout her life. She was known for her caring nature, always putting the needs of her family and friends before her own. Her hobbies included being a great seamstress, cooking, needlepoint, cross stitching, and gardening. Every year, Barbara looked forward to vacationing in Northern Michigan and Myrtle Beach, where she created countless treasured memories with her loved ones.
Barbara’s legacy is carried on by her devoted daughters, Deborah (Tom) Hilgeman of Port Neches, Texas, and Felicia Farr of Dayton, Ohio. She leaves behind proud grandchildren, Carrie (Brian) Jones and Thomas Hilgeman, both of Port Neches, Texas, as well as her adored great-grandsons, Brandon (Kennedy) Jones and Caleb Jones, who will fondly remember their beloved great-grandmother; as well as her son’s former fiancé, Joanne Moeller of Dayton and her children.
In addition to her living family, Barbara is reunited in spirit with her parents, Carl and Edna Breidenbach, her husband Walton, and her son, Craig Farr. She will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her, including her loving nieces, nephews, and friends.
Barbara’s life was a testament to love, kindness, and the joy of family, and she leaves behind a rich legacy of memories that will endure in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial to follow at Woodland Cemetery in Dayton.
