Barbara Ann Barnett

Barbara Ann Barnett, age 67, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by the love and comfort of her family on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

Born on February 17, 1959, in Dayton, Ohio, Barbara lived a life filled with love, creativity, and dedication to those she held dear. She will be remembered for her kind heart, gentle spirit, and the joy she brought to everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Barbara was preceded in death by her beloved parents, George Bowman and Mary Jane Bowman.

Left to cherish her memory is her devoted husband of 46 years, Bill Barnett Jr., whose love and partnership were the foundation of a lifetime of treasured memories. She was a proud and loving mother to Rachel Marie Barnett (Anurag Pandey) and Jason Clifford Barnett. Barbara's greatest joy was her family, and she especially cherished her role as grandmother to Jarrod Mosser, Joseph Mosser, and Julia Barnett, each of whom held a special place in her heart. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Lynn (Bill) Stump and Charles (Tammy) Bowman, along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends who will miss her deeply.

Barbara graduated from Belmont High School and later earned her bachelor's degree from Wright State University, an accomplishment of which she was very proud. She dedicated many years of service as a clerk with the United States Postal Service, where she was known for her strong work ethic and friendly nature.

A woman of many talents and interests, Barbara found joy in expressing her creativity. She loved baking and sharing homemade treats with family and friends. An accomplished writer, she had a passion for poetry, and several of her poems were published in local newspapers, allowing her thoughtful words and creative spirit to touch the lives of others. Barbara also enjoyed traveling and dining with her close friends and family. One of her favorite experiences was taking belly dancing classes alongside her daughter, Rachel, creating memories filled with laughter, fun, and a special mother-daughter bond. Barbara's life was defined by the love she shared with others. She had a gift for making people feel welcome, valued, and cared for. Her warmth, compassion, creativity, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always.

Funeral services are pending at this time. Barbara will be laid to rest at Dayton Memorial Park.
