Averol "Pete" Dent, 79, of Dayton, passed away on April 11, 2017 at his home.
He was born on June 11, 1937 to the late Silmer and Dorse (Ball) Dent in Hewett, WV. Pete worked at GM for 33 years and retired from Oakwood Schools in 2014.
Pete is survived by his loving children, Tammy (Dan) Collinsworth and Steve (Sarah) Dent and grandchildren, Sophie and Charlie.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis and grandson, Brent.
Visitation will be held Saturday, April 15, 2017, 12:00 - 2:00 pm with a service following at 2:00 pm at Newcomer Funeral Home & Crematory, 3940 Kettering Blvd., Kettering, Ohio 45439. Burial will take place at Valley View Memorial Gardens, Xenia, OH.
Memorials are suggested to the Dayton Foundation - Brent Collinsworth Memorial Fund (7161).
