Ashley Marie Hunter, a beloved daughter, mother, sister, and friend, passed away on May 26, 2026. Born on March 26, 1985, in
Kettering, they lived a life that will always leave a mark on this world and will forever be remembered for their kindness and ambition.
Ashley graduated from Fairmont High School in 2003, carrying her first child in her stomach as she walked across the stage to receive her diploma. Her strong will and ambition were evident not only in her schoolwork but also in her dedication to her family. Ashley had a diverse career, yet all her roles shared a common thread: helping others and making their days better. She began her career as a nurse, earned a degree from Wright State University, and later returned to Wright State to earn a master's degree in Counseling. Despite late nights of studying and years of schooling, she never wavered from her goal to help others. Most importantly, Ashley always found time for her family, and her love for them was unshakeable.
Ashley was always a lover of random knick-knacks and random gadgets, always filling her house and rooms with little oddities from the dollar store or items she would find on walks with her family. To Ashley, what filled her heart the most was never the latest or most expensive items; it was always the little stuff that would bring a smile to your face and something she would deeply cherish.
One of Ashley’s favorite hobbies was going for walks with her family or catching up on all her Judge Judy & especially True Crime videos. To say Ashley’s life was adventurous would be an understatement, as every holiday or family gathering around the dinner table was always filled with the crazy stories Ashley experienced in her life. Whether it be from interesting cases from work or crazy neighbors, Ashley always had a story to tell. However, even Ashley was only human, so to accomplish all this work, family, and school, she could rest assured every morning started with a jumbotron-sized mug of coffee to get her through the day.
From her life, Ashley’s legacy lives and breathes through her beloved children: Sasha Hunter, Michael Hunter, and Joshua Hunter. If you ask anyone who knew Ashley, they would all tell you the same thing: that her kids were the beacon of light in her life, and her well of love for them had no bottom. Survived by her parents, Kathy Deaton and Robert Knight, and many extended family and friends, Ashley had built a life for herself, and many will remember her mark on this world through her loving nature, kindness, and especially her wacky personality.
Ashley was a fighter, a survivor, and a proud woman of her accomplishments and the children she raised. A woman who, not once in her life, did not give up, never threw in the towel, and always found a light at the end of the tunnel. Her ferocity, her love, and her passion for life are impossible to forget; from the dearest family to the most distant strangers, they shall remember.
A visitation will be held on June 8, 2026, from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM. Ashley’s journey may be closed, but her story is far from over as it lives and breathes in the hearts of all who knew her. For as long as we remember the love she inspired, Ashley will never truly be gone from this world, a reminder of how love has no bounds.
