Arthur L. Peters, Jr., affectionately known as A.J., passed away on May 10, 2025, in his beloved hometown of Dayton, Ohio. Born on October 13, 1978, Arthur was a vibrant spirit who embraced life with a big heart and an infectious sense of humor that endeared him to all who crossed his path.
Arthur dedicated his professional life to serving others, whether it be his talent as a cook/sous chef or working as a Valet at the V.A. Medical Center. Drawing on his vast intelligence and engaging personality, he became a cherished member of the community, often times serving as a “Jack of All Trades” to those he knew. He was not only a hard worker but also the life of the party, bringing joy and laughter wherever he went. Those who knew him appreciated his ability to make them smile, a true testament to his love for making others laugh.
In addition to his career, Arthur was deeply passionate about music. He had been a drummer from a young age, played the guitar, and even worked as a DJ in his younger days. His profound love for music brought rhythm to his life, and he filled the air with the beats of his favorite songs. Whether cheering for his Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, or Dayton Dragons, Arthur's enthusiasm for life was palpable.
Arthur held many roles and honors in his life, including being a past Grand Master of the Masonic Lodge in Lewisburg, a past member of the Camden Masonic Lodge #159 and a proud member of the Scottish Rite. His sense of community and service was further demonstrated through his supportive nature, which was evident in his forgiving soul and kindness towards others.
Arthur is lovingly remembered by his dear children, Madeline, Dayna, and A.J. Peters; and his step-son, Blake Sandlin, who carry forward his spirit and charm. He is survived by his devoted mother, Diane Peters, his partner, Sabrina Shell, and his sister, Elizabeth (Brian) Kinnison. Arthur's presence will also be missed by his nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, as well as many other loving family and friends who were blessed to know him. In their hearts resides the memory of his witty anecdotes and the warmth of his friendship. Not to forget, his cherished cat, "Miss Midnight," also known as "Kitty," and his four-legged brother, “Chip”, who will both miss his gentle touch and companionship.
He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur L. Peters, Sr., and his beloved grandparents, William & Edna Peters and James & Phyllis Francis, whose spirits now reunite with him.
