Arthur "Art" Newell of Xenia , age 76
Surrounded by his family "Art" passed away from his struggle with lung cancer Friday, February 23, 2018 at Victory Ridge Hospice at the Dayton VA. Calling all women darling, enjoying daily trips to Bob Evans & Frishes in Xenia. Loving long rides thru the countryside taking pictures, loved the deers, old barns a "farm boy". He and his companion, Debbie Tretiak, spent winters in their mobile home in Sebring, FL. He was proud to be a Vietnam Veteran. He was serviced by the Dayton VA doctors and hospital. Born in Alabama to John & Sarah Newell (Deceased). His family of two brothers Bill and John shared responsibilities of farm life. School was second after responsibilities. He loved language and math. Received his GED from Greene Vocational . Employed by Cemex in Fairborn for 28 years. His wife Menna (Deceased 2006) he and their son Lloyd camped, fished, enjoyed their boat & trips to Alabama Art enjoyed woodworking.. Survived by his son Lloyd T. Newell of Fairborn, OH, brother Bill Newell of Sebring, FL, Nieces Jennifer Newell and her daughters Rachel Davis and Mindy Davis, Brenda Huff and their families, Pamela Robertson all of Wilmington, OH, Nephews James Newell, Mike Newell and their families all of Fairborn, OH, lots of cousins & extended family. Nathan & Amber Tretiak and their precious daughter Kynzi Tretiak that called Art "Gibbs". Tarek Tretiak and his daughters Natalie Tretiak & Michaela Garman. Art served in the US ARMY Vietnam infantry receiving the purple heart and a captured POW.

Services Thursday, March 1, 2018 at Newcomers Funeral Home in Beavercreek, OH. 10:00 AM Visitation and 11:00 Services with John Corcoran officiating. Final resting place will be Valley View Memorial Gardens. Procession immediately after funeral
