She graduated from Patterson Cooperative High School in 1943.
She married Russell E. Whiteman in 1946 just 6 months after meeting him. They enjoyed a loving relationship of 58 years and together created strong bonds with both sides of the family.
Arline was preceded in death by her husband Russell in 2004, sister Velma (Jim) Jacobs, and sister Janet (H.R., Bud) Whiteman.
Arline is survived by her daughters Anita Whiteman and Karla (Ken Jr) Brightman; son Jan Whiteman; grandsons Kenny III (Veronica) Brightman and Kyle (Diana) Brightman; as well as her beloved great-grandchildren---Cameron, Valerie, and Jacob. Also surviving are her niece Gayle Allen and nephews Terry (Pat) Whiteman and Gary (Anne) Whiteman.
Arline faced numerous medical challenges beginning at age 36, through which she persevered with acceptance, bravery, and grace. She was a wonderful wife and mother who demonstrated calm, love, generosity, and selflessness every day. She was a charter member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church and served there for many years.
Arline resided at Trinity Community for 14 years, daily showing people how to have a happy life in a senior setting. Our thanks to the staff at Trinity and special thanks to Tammy Talbott who lovingly cared for Mother for 6 years.
