Arlene Rae Miller, affectionately known as "Memaw," passed away on August 2, 2025, in her birthplace of Dayton, Ohio, at the age of 88. Born on March 6, 1937, Arlene was the beloved daughter of the late Vivian (Klemp) and Clarence Fletcher. She is now reunited with her husband, Jerry Miller, Sr., with whom she joyfully shared 49 years of marriage, and her departed siblings: Richard Fletcher, Patty Kleismit, Tommy Fletcher, and Betty Fletcher.
Throughout her life, Arlene was admired for her witty personality and empathy. Her family was her greatest treasure, and she dedicated herself to leaving a lasting legacy for them. Arlene adored her children, Jerry (Kim) Miller, Jr., Shawn Miller, and Jodi (Ron) Barber, who were her pride and joy. She cherished her role as a grandmother to Jade (Dustin Corwin) Toops, Zach Toops, and Colt Miller, and took immense delight in her great-grandson, Waylon Corwin.
Arlene's hobbies included crossword puzzles, enjoying games of Mahjong, and watching funny videos on her tablet, all of which brought her great joy. Her life was filled with laughter, love, and warmth, which she extended to everyone around her. Friends and family found comfort in her presence, and her legacy of love will continue to flourish in the hearts of those she touched.
Visitation will be held at Newcomer Funeral Home in Kettering, Ohio, on August 18, 2025, from 10:30 AM until the start of the funeral service at 11:30 AM. Following the service, Arlene will be laid to rest at the Dayton National Cemetery at 1:00 PM.
Arlene Rae Miller will be deeply missed, yet her spirit will forever remain in the lives of those who loved her.
