April Lynne Cook (Sheehan) passed away peacefully on April 1, 2026, surrounded by her family after a long battle with cancer. Born on July 1, 1963, in Dayton, Ohio, April lived a life marked by dedication and love.
A graduate of Belmont High School’s Class of 1981, April devoted much of her professional career to the Miamisburg Police Department, where she served as the administrative assistant to the Police Chief before retiring. Her commitment to her work mirrored the warmth and care she extended to those around her.
April was known for her loving, outgoing, and caring personality. Those who knew her found her genuinely easy to be around and always willing to lend a helping hand. She took great joy in spending time with her family, particularly her grandchildren, and treasured the moments she shared with them. She held dear the memories of taking her children on outings during their younger years and valued the time spent at the lake with loved ones. Whether planning trips, going to the beach, or celebrating holidays, April embraced life fully. Her pride in her children and grandchildren was her most cherished accomplishment.
April is survived by her daughter, Andrea (Sam) Haddix; son, Brandon (Sabrina) Cook; and her treasured grandchildren, Ellie Cook, Brantley Haddix, Reagan Cook, Brooks Haddix, and Brody Haddix. She is also survived by her sister, Melody (Rod) Davis, and her ex-husband and devoted friend, Bob Cook. Her life was further enriched by many other family members and friends who held her close.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Fred and Phyllis Sheehan; brothers, Mark Sheehan and Keith Sheehan; and sister-in-law, Tracy Sheehan.
April’s legacy lives in the love she shared, her unwavering support for her family, and the impact she had on those fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will continue to inspire and comfort all who had the privilege to call her family and friend.
