Listen to Obituary

Antha "Ann" Sparks, born on May 12, 1941, in Jamestown, Tennessee, departed this life on October 22, 2025, in Tipp City, Ohio. She leaves behind a vibrant legacy filled with love and warmth, cherished by those who were fortunate to know her.

Ann dedicated 30 years of her professional life to Delco Products, where her strong work ethic and friendly demeanor left a lasting impression on colleagues and customers alike. As she moved into retirement, Ann embraced life with the same passion she applied to her career. She was known for her caring nature, never meeting a stranger, and was often described as feisty—qualities that endeared her to many.

A deeply religious woman, Ann found great joy and purpose at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, a community where she felt at home and was able to share her faith with others. Her love for church was just one aspect of her colorful personality. Ann adored getting her hair and nails done, maintaining standing appointments that showcased her love for self-care and style.

Shopping was another of Ann’s passions, a joy she often shared with friends and family. She found delight in going out to eat, savoring not just the meals but the company that came with them. Ann's heart was full of love for her beloved cat, Peanut, who brought her hours of companionship and joy.

In her final days, Ann was surrounded by the love of those who mattered most to her. She is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Dan and Pat Maxwell; sisters-in-law: Brenda Bond, Heidi Maxwell, Joyce Rogers (Butch), Bonnie Pullum, Angie Sparks and Pauline Rippeple; nephew, Dion Maxwell (Tonya); niece, Becky Morris (Willie); great-niece, Chelsea Maxwell; and great-great-niece, Amaya. Numerous other family members and friends will also dearly miss her presence, affection, and the light she brought into their lives.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, George and Imogene Maxwell; husband, JT Sparks; infant son, Dennis Sparks; and brother, Larry Maxwell. Each of these losses marked Ann's journey, but they also served to enhance the compassion she showed others throughout her life.

Visitation will take place on Friday, October 31, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 1:00 PM all at Woodland Hills Baptist Church, 6020 Foster Ave, Dayton, Ohio.  Burial to follow at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens, Tipp City, OH.  Arrangements entrusted to Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton.

In celebrating Ann's life, we remember not just the breadth of her years but the depth of her spirit. Though she may have left this world, her loving influence and the memories shared will continue to live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
