Ansel Eugene "Pete" Lewis, age 78, of Huber Heights, passed away July 8, 2026. He was born August 31, 1947 in Urbana, Ohio. Pete was preceded in death by his father, John Lewis; mother, Nancy Cannon; sister, Sadie; and wife, Linda Lewis.
Pete is survived by his son and daughter-in-law: Dustin and Ashley Lewis; granddaughter: Lilyana Lewis; and stepson: David Spanel.
Pete was a proud veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps and served our country during the Vietnam War.
He retired from the U.S. Postal Service after nearly 30 years of service. He was a current employee and member of the Milton Athletic Club. He always enjoyed his time there. He loved his yearly fishing trips to Arkansas, Tennessee, and his favorite trip of all was fishing in Canada with his best friends for over 40 years. He was an avid karaoke singer famously know for his state qualify and state award for top 10. In his younger days Pete had a love for golf and a passion for bowling. He spent a lot of time with his wife Linda on the volleyball courts.
Visitation will be held from 2:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, August 2, 2026 at Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, where the funeral service will begin at 3:00 pm. A private family graveside service with military honors will be held at Dayton National Cemetery.
