Annie J. Mann

August 19, 1952 — June 21, 2025

Dayton, Ohio

Annie J. Mann, also known as Ann or Jean, was born on August 19, 1952, in Greenville, Alabama. She departed from this world unexpectedly on June 21, 2025, surrounded by her beloved family, leaving behind a legacy marked by love, generosity, and an unwavering commitment to those she held dear. She fought the good fight to stay alive but she had to go with God.

An accomplished cardiovascular technologist, Ann dedicated over three decades of her life to the field making a significant impact at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. In addition to her role as a cardiovascular technologist, Ann extended her service as a senior paramedic for Jefferson Township from 1980 to 2016. Her career was not just a job; it was a testament to her passion for caring for others. Before embarking on her journey in cardiovascular technology, she also worked as a pharmacy technician, further showcasing her dedication to the healthcare profession.

Ann was known for her fiery personality and generous spirit, always ready to lend a hand or provide wise counsel to loved ones. The true essence of her character could be captured in the sentiment, "You need me - call me". Her willingness to help was matched only by her joyous heart—she was devoted to giving back to everyone around her. As a young person, she demonstrated immense compassion by caring for her elders, an attribute that remained central to her identity throughout her life.

Family was the cornerstone of Ann’s existence. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to being a mother and showed immense pride in her daughters Ambra, Terrie, Teresa, and sons Dewayne, and Jonathan. In her later years, she reveled in the joy of her grandchildren, Thalia, Malachi, Malia, Kofi, Akua, Lorenzo, Jatonya, Genie, and Asia when they were small. Her love also extended to the great grandchildren.

One thing Ann cherished was spending time camping with her husband, Roy Mann Sr., and found satisfaction in tackling any challenge that came her way. She made gatherings with family a delight, as she filled the room with her infectious laughter and warmth. She was a helicopter mom and didn’t care how old the children got!

Ann is survived by her devoted husband, Roy Mann Sr., her children Ambra Thomas, Terrie (Kwabena) Aboagye, Teresa Mann, Dewayne Mann, and Jonathan Mann, her grandchildren, and great-grandchildren, along with her sister, Doris Wilkins, and nieces, Jocelyn Ortiz, Contina Wilkins, and Gail Brown and special Uncle Shellie Shepherd. She adored her great nieces and nephews Kristopher, Taylor, Tylin, and Gabby. The memories of her spirit will linger in the hearts of her extended family and dear friends.

Though she has been preceded in death by her father, James Winston, her mother, Climmie Simmons, her brother, Andre Winston, and her son, Roy Mann Jr., Ann’s legacy will continue through the lives she touched. Her spirit, ever generous and loving, will remain a guiding light for all who had the privilege to know her. The world is undeniably a lesser place without her fiery presence but her kindness and devotion will forever resonate in the hearts of those she leaves behind.
