Anna Clarice Turpin

Anna Clarice (Suttle) Turpin, 87, of Huber Heights, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Saturday, September 12, 2026, at Hospice of Dayton. She was born on August 25, 1939, in Estesburg, Kentucky, to Thomas Henry and Bertha (Griffin) Suttle.

On February 23, 1962, Clarice married Curtis Prate Turpin. They shared 35 years together until his death in 1997. She was a loving homemaker while her children were small, and she later worked as a legal secretary until she retired.

Clarice was a faithful member of the Bath Road Church of Christ. She was an ardent supporter of the local and national Democratic Party. In retirement, she spent much of her time researching her family's ancestry.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Curtis; her parents, Thomas and Bertha Suttle; her siblings, Harold, Denver, Ruth, Marjorie, and Carol; and her grandchildren, Sara Turpin and Timothy Turpin.

Clarice is survived by her children, Teresa Frances Ellis, Carol Ann Madewell (Darla Baker), Anthony Curtis Turpin, and Frank Prate Turpin (Ana); her stepson, David Lee Turpin (Janice); her grandchildren, Michael Shane Hollen, Amy Redmond, Christopher Turpin, Beth Ruiz, Ashley Preston, Christopher Madewell, Alexandria Russell, Curtis Turpin, Brittany Cummings, Frank Wray, and Cooper; and several great-grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at Dayton Memorial Park Cemetery, 8135 North Dixie Drive, Dayton, OH 45414. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to Bath Road Church of Christ, 4545 Bath Road, Huber Heights, OH 45424.
