Anita R. Boulais passed away peacefully at home on July 1, 2026 in Fairborn, OH.
Born in McKenzie, TN to her late parents Annie Reynolds and Tom Reynolds, Anita was raised alongside her late siblings Charles Reynolds, Tommy Reynolds, and Karen Heisterkamp.
An active member of the Fairborn community, she spent 60 years as a hairdresser in the area, most notably at her beloved Headliners Salon, which she co-owned with friends Charlotte Hook and Marsha Brown. Although the job was officially doing client’s hair, she was there for the people. Having seemingly remembered every person who sat in her chair, Anita was known for her ability to connect with clients through empathetic understanding and animated story telling.
When not behind the chair, she was known for her love of gardening, spending much of her summers in her backyard landscaping and admiring her creation. A true lover of nature, Anita found joy in walks through the woods and birdwatching.
She is survived by her daughter Kelly Pemberton and her late husband Charles “Bill” Pemberton, her son Kerry Bartlett and his wife Heidi Bartlett, her grandchildren Bailey Pemberton and Aiden Bartlett, and her cat Sybil. Additionally, she leaves behind loving nieces and nephews, as well as many special friends.
Anita will be buried in Tennessee alongside her parents and siblings. At the family’s request, there will be no funeral service.
