Andrew John Barrett

November 11, 1966 — May 25, 2025

Beavercreek

BARRETT, Andrew John 58, of Beavercreek, Ohio, died on May 25, 2025. Born November 11, 1966, in Dayton, Ohio, he is predeceased by his parents, Ralph and Mary Barrett, his mother-in-law, Candace Gouldburn, his father-in-law, Regnoid Burns, his sister-in-law, Vicki Barrett, and his best friends Fireball, Ralphie, Rudy, Oliver, Mollie, and Buckshot.

Andrew was the most genuinely good-hearted person one could ever meet. He enjoyed drag racing with friends and family. He also loved watching his nephews’ race whether on a drag strip or on a round track.

His biggest joy may have come from his dogs. He and his wife were foster parents for Luv4K9s pet rescue. He was able to help their puppy mill mother Shih Tzu, Maggie, become so trusting of him. She was eager for him to get home and was sitting on his lap just last week napping. Joey, their blind and deaf Cocker Spaniel, somehow saw all the love Andy had when he first met him. And there went another of Angelique’s dogs now Andys.

It seemed every time, Angelique decided to keep a dog for her own, he stole them just by being him. His biggest love was the Basset Hounds. Jack is our latest. They bickered over chairs and the bed. As Andrew became sick, they bickered most over how protective Jack became. Jack never left his side and followed him everywhere.

In his career leading up to him as a toolmaker, owner, and operator of Barrett Tool and Technology LLC, he worked for others learning his trade, Westwood, and Alek Industries (25 yrs). He worked with all 3 of his nephews and enjoyed spending time helping them be better machinist, toolmakers, welders, and assemblers. He hoped that his guidance made a difference in the successes in their lives. He loved them deeply and was always there to support them.

Survivors include his wife of nearly 11 years, Angelique Burns-Barrett, whose love for him will last her lifetime. Three brothers, Michael (Gloria) Barrett, Daniel Barrett, Christopher (Tracie) Barrett. Three Nephews, Matthew (Brittany) Barrett, Nicholas (Amanda) Barrett, Ryan (Abby) Barrett. One Great-Niece, Tilly Barrett and 2 Great-Nephews, Joey and Jayson Hoelscher.

The family will receive friends and acquaintances at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, on Thursday, June 12, 2025, at 12 pm and funeral service will begin at 1 pm. The graveside service will immediately follow at the Mount Zion Park Cemetery. Everyone is welcome.
