Anderson Porter (AP) Richardson was born on February 3, 1938 in Dayton, OH to the late Addison and Lida Richardson.AP departed this earthly life on December 10, 2025. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of 44 years, Sandra Richardson of Springboro, OH, two children, Braylon (Keysha) Richardson of Dayton, OH, Tiffani Richardson, step-daughter Ayanna (Rick) Thompson of Dayton, OH, three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.AP enjoyed reading and sports and spending time with his granddaughter, Ja Nyla, who was the light of his life.AP graduated from Dunbar High School, at the age of 15 in 1953. He earned a Bachelor's degree in Education from Central State University in Wilberforce, OH and was a member of the Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity. He also served in the United States Army as a medic during the Korean War.As a longtime devoted and faithful member of Corinthian Baptist Church he was actively involved as a Sunday School Teacher, a Trustee, member of the Male Chorus, the Executive Director of the P.E. Henderson, Sr. Life Center. For many years, he also served on the Financial Committee for Men's Day. AP further served as a Wright Dunbar Committee member, and he was inducted into the Hall of Fame at the Wright Dunbar Area Credit Union 70*h Anniversary Gala. Additionally, he received a certificate of achievement for his participation in the Annual Miami Valley Baptist District Association Christian Education and was a member of Concerned Christian Men. His favorite bible verse was "Do Unto Others as You Would Have Them Do Unto You." and he was motived by doing the right thing and never sought recognition for his efforts.AP worked in many capacities; he was a 4th grade teacher in the Dayton Public School System; he held the position of Director of Education for Model Cities; the Director of the University Year for Action (UYA) Program at Central State University; Director of MonDay Community Correctional Facility, and as a Community Lending Officer for Fifth Third Bank.AP was loved by many, and he never knew a stranger. Though he is in God's keeping, he will always remain in our hearts.
Funeral Service will be held at January 9, 2026 at 12:00 pm at Corinthian Baptist Church (700 S James H McGee Blvd, Dayton, OH 45402). Visitation will be prior to the service from 11:00AM until the time of the service at 12:00PM.
