Alycia Elson

Alycia Elson, born on July 2, 1973, in Dayton, Ohio, passed away peacefully on February 2, 2026, in her beloved hometown. A devoted mother, wife, daughter, and sister, Alycia's warmth and spirit touched all who knew her.

Alycia was the cherished daughter of Betty Miller and Bart Lawhorn (Bonnie). She is survived by her husband, Jack Elson, who stood by her side; her children who brought immense joy to her life: Justin Shick (Ashley), Victoria Hitchens (Josh), and DJ Brock (Amee). As a proud grandmother, Alycia found great happiness in her four grandchildren: Jaxyn Brock, Ezra Hitchens, Elijah Hitchens, and Parker Brock, each a shining light in her life. She is also survived by her brothers, Luke Lawhorn (Jessica) and Wyatt Lawhorn (Kristen); many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.

Alycia was preceded in death by her brother, Brad Robert Lawhorn, and her grandparents: Wanda Jeanne Seifert, Edward Robert Rounds, Robert and Marilyn Lawhorn.

Family and friends are invited to honor Alycia during a visitation on Thursday, February 12, 2026, from 2:30 PM to 4:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM, all taking place at the Newcomer Funeral Home, North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd, Dayton, OH 45424.

Alycia was the life of the party with her beautiful laugh and smile. She will be remembered for her kindness and the countless ways she enriched the lives of others.
