Alva Edison "Ed" Lutes, age 84 of Dayton, passed away April 26, 2011. He was born March 8, 1927 in Connersville, IN to the late Raleigh and Mabel Lutes. In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by brothers: Harry Lutes and Paul Lutes; and step-son, Ralph Lynch.
Ed is survived by his wife, Laverne Lutes; children: Richard Lutes, Rex (Jean) Lutes, Rodney (Connie) Lutes and Robert Lutes; step-son, Bobby (Janice) Lynch, Allen Lynch and Ernie (Maryanne) Lynch; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 4 step-grandchildren; 2 step-great grandchildren; 2 step-great great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other family member and friends.
Ed was a veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Standard Register as a Pressman after many years of service.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 pm on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Newcomer Funeral Home, 4104 Needmore Road, where the family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, 12:30-1:30 pm.
