Alton Stines, affectionately known as "Al," passed away on May 5, 2026, in Dayton, Ohio. Born on July 24, 1936, in Berry, Alabama, Alton’s life was a testament to a dedication to faith, family, and community. He brought joy, laughter, and kindness to all who knew him and was truly the type of man the world will deeply miss.
Alton devoted over 30 years of his life to RegO Products, where he worked with dedication and care as a Supervisor. Beyond his professional achievements, those close to him remember Al as a loving and light-hearted soul whose faith was a cornerstone of his life. He served his church faithfully, including a period as a Deacon, reflecting his deep commitment to his beliefs.
His passions extended into his hobbies, where he found joy and solace in woodworking, gardening, and taking long walks to enjoy the warmth of the sun. These simple pleasures showed his appreciation for the beauty and peace found in the outdoors.
Alton’s generous and loving nature was evident in his relationships. He is survived by his devoted children: Amy (Don) Guerra, Alton Jeffery Stines, and Franklin Stines, who carry forward his legacy with pride. Grandchildren, Michael A. Guerra, Serena L. (Jeff) Guerra, Mark A. Guerra, Lisa (John) Cuff, Christopher (Lindsey) Stines, Bethany (Phil) and Adam (Kayla); along with his great-grandchildren, Sebastian, Gracyn, Jadyn, Rilyn, and many other loving great-grandchildren, remain a testament to the rich family life he nurtured. He also leaves behind his siblings, James W. (Kathy) Stines and Minnie (Earl) Coleman, as well as a wide circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who cherished him deeply.
Alton was preceded in death by his beloved parents, Willis and Sibbie Stines; his cherished wife, Betty Louise Stines; his son, Michael Leon Stines; and siblings L.C. Stines, Armon Stines, Billy Joe Stines, Lavada and Betty Jean Ely.
Services to celebrate Alton’s remarkable life will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Newcomer Funeral Home, 3380 Dayton-Xenia Rd., Beavercreek, Ohio. Alton Stines was a man of faith, humor, love, and generosity whose presence enriched the lives of all fortunate enough to know him. His legacy lives on in the hearts of his family and friends, and his memory will continue to inspire and uplift those who treasured him.
