Alphonso “Butch” Zachery was born to the late Alphonia Zachery and Anna Lee Green Zachery on August 15, 1947, in Dayton, Ohio. He departed this life on April 6, 2026.
Alphonso was an avid Kansas City Chiefs man and enjoyed watching football games with family and friends.
Everyone knows how Butch loved to tell stories (most of us would call them lies) but he called them stories. He always had one that would keep you laughing.
One of the saying His children remember was he was always taking “whether leave.” Whether he had it or not 😊 Alphonso experienced some rough periods in his life but through it all he maintained his course and did the best he could.
Uncle Butch as some of us called him attended Dayton Public School and graduated from Roosevelt High School Class of 1965.
He retired from the ELANO Corporation a sub-division of General Electric assembling jet engine parts for government as well as commercial aircraft. He also worked for Frigidaire, Sukkur’s Market. Butch knew how to slice and dice every part of a cow but couldn’t cook.
Alphonso was preceded in death by His late wife Brenda Zackery, Father Alphonia Zackery, Mother Anna Lee Zackery (Green), Sisters Hadiyah Abdulla, Alma Wooten (Green-Cranford), Joyce Ogletree. Brother Benjamin Zackery.
He leaves to cherish his memories Children Keeny (Erica) Lucky, of Pickerington Ohio, Jennifer (Alonzo) Luky-Dolby, of Orlando Florida, Marcus Bracey, Cal (Tosha) Foster, Culpatrice Foster of Dayton Ohio. Grandchildren Kenneth Lucky ll (Jada) of Chattanooga Tennessee. Sister Kathy. A host of Nephews, (close nephew Rodney Cranford Sr), Nieces, cousins, and friends.
His leaving us will be felt by many relatives and friends.
Family gathering will be held on August 30, 2026, at the Majesty Banquet Hall 5511 Salem Avenue, Trotwood Ohio at 1:30 pm.
