Alice Gwin

Alice Gwin, age 92, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on May 7, 2024. She was born in Jellico, Tennessee on August 31, 1931 to the late Flem and Edith Stephens. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband of 74 years Hiram Gwin and her brothers Herthel Stephens, Clonia Stephens, and Noah Stephens.

Alice is survived by her children Barbara (Paul) Heyse, Linda (Tom) Elrod, Gail (Mac) Hammons, Joyce (Jack) Sollenberger, and Cheryl (Darrell) Hammons; grandchildren Heidi Heyse, Brian Elrod, Jason Elrod, Chanda Williams, Alicia King, Nick Hammons, Kelsey Jast; many great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family.

Funeral service will be held at 11 AM on Monday, May 13, 2024 at Miami Shores Baptist Church, 4000 Vance Rd, Moraine, OH, 45439; officiated by Pastor Doug Surber. Visitation will begin one hour prior to service at church. Alice will be laid to rest at Evergreen Cemetery in West Carrollton.
