Listen to Obituary

Alice Lenore Davis, a beloved matriarch, passed away peacefully on February 4, 2026, in Miamisburg, Ohio, just days before her 85th birthday. Born on February 10, 1941, in Dayton, Ohio, Alice spent her life cultivating joy and love in the hearts of those lucky enough to know her.

Alice was a proud graduate of Fairmont High School, class of 1959. Following her education, she dedicated 26 years to PNC Bank, where she made lasting friendships and became a cherished member of the community. Upon her retirement, she worked for Brinks for 10 years and she became a loving grandmother and great-grandmother, taking immense pride in her family, which she considered her proudest accomplishment.

As a quiet yet engaging presence, Alice's fun-loving spirit brought warmth and laughter into every room. Her humor was vibrant and infectious, bringing smiles to those around her. She had a unique way of connecting with people, leaving each person she met feeling valued and appreciated.

Alice had a sincere passion for life’s simple pleasures. Her love of flowers, especially yellow roses, brightened her home and those of her family. She cherished the time spent outdoors, particularly enjoying the sunsets at the Michigan cabin. Her hobbies included bowling and playing softball, activities that brought her joy and allowed her to connect with others.

She was also known for her shoe shopping fetish, a trait she lovingly passed on to her granddaughters, creating a bond that only a shared love for stylish shoes can foster.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Mark (Kathy) Davis and Mary Davis McDonald; her grandchildren, Megan (Adam) Miller, Kevin Davis, and Brittany (Steven) McDonald; and her great-grandchildren, Oliver and Hudson. Alice also leaves behind her life partner, Dave Bratton, who shared in her joys and dreams.

Alice is preceded in death by her parents, Dorothy Duncan and Ted Pickering; her infant son, Jonathan Davis; her brother, Warren Pickering; and her sister-in-law, Doris Pickering. Each of these losses shaped her life and strengthened her love for those she left behind.
