Alfred William Bobo, more commonly known as "Bill,” “Dad,” or “Funcle,” passed away peacefully under Hospice of Dayton’s care on December 10, 2025 at the age of 77. Born on March 23, 1948 in Springfield, Ohio, Bill lived a life characterized by kindness, loyalty, and a deep commitment to his family.

Bill was known for his good nature and gentle demeanor. He loved animals and children, and was kind and welcoming to everyone he met. He had an intellectually curious mind and loved engaging in political debates while nursing a vodka tonic in a tall glass.

Bill could often be found enjoying C-SPAN, listening to rock music or the blues, reading, or working on his cars. His passion for classic cars led him to collect them and foster relationships with other car enthusiasts, expressing his love for this hobby throughout his life.

Bill was not only a great father and loving husband, but also a cherished brother and a loyal friend. He is survived by his devoted wife of 49 years, Patricia “Patti” Bobo (née Wrigley); his daughter Jacquelyn “Jackie” Bobo and son-in-law Andrew Thompson; brother Richard “Dick” Bobo, sister-in-law Jana Bobo, and their children Bill (Tammy) and Kevin Bobo; sister-in-law Mary Ann Schrader, her husband Jack Schrader and their children Brian (Sarah Hamilton) and Lisa Schrader; longtime friends Jim & Pat and Dave Stockton; good friends John and Debbie Howdeshelt; neighbors Jeff and Kristen Von De Linde and their children, Eden and Elise; along with a great niece, great nephews, and many other family members and friends who will remember him fondly.

Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Victor Bobo and Virginia Bobo Temple (née Folck). His legacy of love, support, and humor will continue to resonate with those fortunate enough to have known him. As we reflect on the life of Bill, we celebrate a man who was genuinely good-hearted and a profound presence in the lives of his family and friends.

A celebration of Bill’s life will be held in the coming months.
