Alan Broze, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and brother, passed away peacefully on May 18, 2025, surrounded by his loving family in Dayton, Ohio. Born on May 30, 1946, in Cleveland, Ohio, Alan led a life filled with laughter, love, and music.
Alan dedicated many years of his life to a successful career in construction, where his great sense of humor and strong work ethic made him a valued colleague and friend. He proudly served in the U.S. Marine Corps during the Vietnam Era, demonstrating his commitment and bravery, qualities that he carried throughout his life.
A dedicated family man, Alan cherished his wife of 52 years, Connie Broze, referring to her as his heart, just as she felt the same about him. Together, they nurtured a loving home filled with warmth and joy. He is survived by his children, Kathy (Arlis) Bruggeman, Tony (Julie) Broze, and Chris Broze, who carry forward his legacy of love and kindness. As a grandfather, Alan took immense pride in his family, including Ashley (Wes) Moultrie, Aaron (Paige) Bruggeman, Britney Broze, Anthony Alan Broze, Desiree (Kody) Hanning, Brian Palun, Ava Broze, Nathan Broze, Alex Broze, and Andrew Broze. Moreover, he was blessed with 11 great-grandchildren who brought immeasurable joy to his life. Alan is also survived by his siblings Barbara J. Spence, David (Antje) Broze, and Lorelei (Jon) Sugano, along with many nieces and nephews, all of whom will remember him fondly.
Alan's artistic spirit shone through his love of singing and painting, hobbies that allowed him to express himself creatively. His dedication to his family extended to the kitchen, where he loved to cook and delight everyone with his delicious desserts. Known for being sweet, loving, and caring, Alan was also known for his strong convictions and a lovable stubbornness that made him a natural leader and provider.
He was preceded in death by his father, Henry C. Broze, mother, Catherine Chleboneski; brother, Richard Broze; and step-son, Marvin Keith Smith.
Friends and family are invited to celebrate Alan's life on May 29, 2025, at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Rd., Dayton, Ohio 45424. Visitation will commence at 4:30 PM, followed by a funeral service at 6:00 PM. We will meet at the funeral home on Friday, May 30, 2025 at 8:00 AM to process to Dayton National Cemetery for a graveside service at 9:00 AM. Where Alan will be laid to rest with military honors.
Alan Broze's life was a beautiful tapestry woven with love, faith, and dedication. He will be deeply missed but forever remembered in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
