Adna Taylor, age 94, of Dayton, passed away on Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Brighton Gardens. She was born on June 24, 1921, in Hazard, Kentucky, to the late Cecil and Belle (Fugate) Campbell. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Cymean "Red" Taylor. Adna is survived by her loving daughter, LaVerne Dickey; two grandchildren, Sarah (Nate) Eichelman, Ian (Bonnie) Dickey; four great grandchildren, Gavin and Claire Eichelman, Reese and Rylen Dickey; special cousin and best friend, Geraldine Jones; as well as numerous relatives and friends. Adna was a spirited and happy woman who loved to serve her family and others. She was tireless and sacrificial in all she did and her family is grateful. She leaves a legacy that demonstrates that despite adversity, there is joy, hope and strength in the Lord. Her smiles, hugs, laughter and presence will be deeply missed, but she lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Adna's wonderful caregivers, Mary, Malitsa and Linda, as well as the staff at Brighton Gardens. Visitation will be held Monday, April 4, 2016, from 12:00 pm. to 1:00 pm. at Newcomer Funeral Home- South Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd. Funeral ceremony will begin at 1:00 pm, with Pastor Doug Surber officiating. Burial will be in Evergreen Cemetery.
