Addie Jean Baker, a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, peacefully went home to be with the Lord on April 10, 2026. Born on November 11, 1949, in Cincinnati, Ohio, Addie Jean was a woman whose life was marked by unwavering faith, deep kindness, and a love for those around her that touched many.
In her younger years, Addie Jean found great joy performing music at churches and revivals alongside her husband, Donald, and her brother, Ben. Her voice and spirit uplifted countless congregations, leaving a lasting impression on all who heard her. She was known for her steadfast devotion to her Christian faith, living a life that was a true testament to the Lord’s love and grace. Many who knew her described her as an angel and a best friend—someone thoughtful, hardworking, and fiercely loving. No one was a stranger to Addie Jean; she believed wholeheartedly that everyone had their place in this world and treated each person with warmth and kindness.
More than just a caretaker, Addie Jean was a people-person who led by example, always ready to lend a hand or offer a listening ear. Her faith was unbreakable, inspiring family, friends, and her church community at First Baptist Church of Springboro, where she was cherished deeply.
She took great pleasure in spending time with her family, engaging in spirited games of Sequence, Aggravation, Yahtzee, and numerous card games. Whether playing with her children or grandchildren—or anyone willing to partake—Addie Jean’s enthusiasm for these moments reflected her love for making memories and sharing joy. She also enjoyed attending concerts and plays with her church family, and was a devoted fan of the Game Show Network and soap operas. At home, she was a wonderful cook, delighting all with her culinary talents. Her grandchildren especially treasured her oatmeal and biscuits and gravy, dishes that they will never forget.
Above all else, Addie Jean’s proudest accomplishment was her family. She is survived by her children, James (Gina) Reedy and Amanda (Jeff) Milano; her grandchildren, Jaxson Reedy, Sophia Milano, Luca Milano, and L.A. Porlucas; her brothers, Wesley (Linda) Roy, Robert (Brenda) Roy, and Benjamin Wilson; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who were all touched by her gentle spirit.
Addie Jean was preceded in death by her parents, Marjorie and Clarence Templeton, and her younger brothers, Roland Roy and Eddie Templeton.
The family would like to extend their gratitude to Addie Jean's niece, Trisha McNeely, and family friend, Becky Aaron, for their support during her time of need. They were monumental in taking her to doctor's appointments, therapy, and made sure to give her the best care when her children needed someone to step in. They would also like to thank the team at Kettering Health Miamisburg for their compassion and care during Addie Jean's time on their unit. There aren't enough words to express their "thanks!"
Her legacy of love, faith, and kindness will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know her. As her family and church community mourn her passing, they also celebrate a life beautifully lived—a testament to the power of devotion, compassion, and enduring love.
Visitation will be held on Friday, April 17, 2026 from 11 am to 12 pm at First Baptist Church of Springboro (80 Greenwood Lane, Springboro, OH 45066). Funeral service will begin at 12 pm. Burial will follow in Trissel Cemetery in New Lebanon, OH.

Meet Me in the Stars
You aren't that far away.
Just meet me in the stars.
I saw you twinkling at me.
I know just where you are.
Distance can never steal
A lifetime of our love.
It is when it is the darkest
The stars appear above.
So shine ever so brightly,
Let me know you still care.
Meet me in the stars
And I will find you there.
