Ada J. Moore

Ada J. Moore, age 87 of Dayton, passed away on Sunday, August 16, 2026. She was born on June 1, 1939 in Birmingham, Alabama the daughter of Foster and Eva Moore.

She is preceded in death by her father, Foster Moore; mother, Eva Moore; sister, Janie Baker; and grandson, Josiah Harris.

Ada is survived by her daughter, Valenca (Carolyn) Novoa; son, Richard (Rochelle) Moore; grandchildren, George, D'Juante, Darrian, Demarrius, Jordan, and Jeremiah. She is also survived by a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

She graduated from Roosevelt High School and was employed by the Veterans Administration Hospital Dietary Office for more than 37 years. In addition, she worked for AFGE as a Treasurer/Secretary for three of those years. Ada was devoted to her faith and was a longtime member of Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church. She was very active at church, including ten ministries and always volunteered. Ada enjoyed Gospel music especially the song "Take me to the King". She was an avid movie fan and loved to spend quality time with her children and friends watching movies. Ada is well loved and will be deeply missed.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church (27 N Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH 45417). Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, August 22, 2026 at Macedonia Missionary Baptist Church (27 N. Gettysburg Ave, Dayton, OH 45417). Ada will be laid to rest at West Memory Gardens at 11:00 am on Monday, August 24, 2026 (6722 Hemple Rd, Moraine, OH 45439).
