Diana Lee Jackson Keener, 76, formerly of Centerville, Ohio, passed away peacefully at Hospice of Dayton on February 20. Diana is preceded in death by her husband Terry Keener, and her father and mother Warren and Dorotha Jackson. She is survived by her children Tammy Newsom and Robin (Chris) Keener Koebberling; grandchildren Alex (Rachel) Stern, Forrest Newsom, and Tommy Koebberling; her twin brother Daniel Jackson; sisters Jean (Neil) Storer, June (Harold) Viers, Mary (Bob) Hazelett, Beth (John) Gauker, and brother David (Robin) Jackson; numerous nieces and nephews, cousins and other family members; and numerous friends.
Diana was born in Springfield, and grew up in Dialton. She was a 1965 graduate of Northwestern High School. She met Terry at Hobart Brothers in Troy, Ohio. They married in 1967, and moved to Germantown to raise a family. She was a revered Girl Scout and Brownie leader, PTA co-president, and active participant in Slifer's Presbyterian Church.
Diana was a savvy business entrepreneur. She ran Itex Control Company alongside her husband Terry. In 1993, they took off for a brand-new life adventure, living in Kansas, Nebraska, and Colorado.
Diana achieved a life-long dream of earning her bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management from Regis University in 2002. Her final job was at the health care facility in a detention center before retiring in 2012.
Diana enjoyed traveling, reading, sightseeing, home decorating, and playing board games as well as chatting and spending time with her countless friends and family. She was faithfully present through her grandchildren’s school and sports activities, and would light up many family functions with personal anecdotes and vivid stories from her life. Diana’s kindness, positivity, verve, vitality, and warmth are cherished and will be missed by all who knew her.
The family invites you to join Diana’s Celebration of Life Service and Witness to the Resurrection, to be held on Saturday, March 23rd at Slifer’s Presbyterian Church, (2999 S. Clayton Rd, Farmersville, Ohio). Visitation begins at 10 am, service starts at 11 am.
