Willis Ann Greer, age 101, of Dayton passed away on May 13, 2023. She was born in Mount Sterling, Kentucky on November 8, 1921 to the late Drummond and Beulah Coleman. In addition to her parents, Willis is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 37 years, Joseph E. Greer Sr.; sister, Elsie Coleman; brothers, Walter Coleman, James Coleman; sister-in-laws, Willa Mae Coleman, Rosalee Russell, Thelma Coleman and brother-in-law, Major Greer.

She is survived by her children, Joseph E. (Ernesteen) Greer Jr., Sandra L. Greer, David K. Greer, Warren C. (Karen) Greer; grandchildren, Darnell Spears, Naomi (Dollar) Jackson, Salina Greer-Daniels, Jevonda (Shimar) Keith, Joy (David) Scott, Jennifer Greer, David (Kisha) Greer-Spears, Elsie Greer, Robert (Merideth) Greer; great-grandchildren, Ron Spears, David Greer-Spears Jr., Daniel Greer-Spears, Maya Greer-Spears, Charnell Spears, Jen'Nia Greer, Jordyn Greer, Dayzionae Daniels, Destinee Daniels, Walter Daniels Jr., Elijah Scott, Jada Scott, Mia Keith, Kemi Keith, Amauri Greer; great-great grandchildren, Janelle Spears, Charles Hardy Jr.; along with many other special family members and friends.

Willis Ann Greer was the matriarch of the Greer family. She was a wonderful mother who never had a cross time in her life with anyone or anything. Willis was a caring, loving and open to loving everyone she interfaced with. She was a God fearing and faithful follower of Jesus Christ. Willis had impeccable manners, her character was that of many who desired to emulate her. She never complained about anything. During her working years, she was dependable and reliable to her employers.

Willis enjoyed and lavished in the upbringing of at least two generations of the Greer heritage. She held many babies in her lap and loved them as her own. Willis also loved her church and her church family, just as they loved her. Although she was not a charter member of Harris Memorial CME Church, she was related to the five women from Mount Sterling, Kentucky who started the initial house of God structure, that ultimately became Harris Memorial CME Church.

Family would like to give a special thank you to the helpful and caring staff at Day City Hospice and her aides Robyn Newton and Erika Joseph.

Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. - 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 5, 2023 at Harris Memorial CME Church, 3950 Haney Rd. Service will begin at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Dr. Cynthia Thompson to officiate. Burial to follow at Dayton National Cemetery.
