Ralph Arland Bowers, 82, of Vandalia, Ohio, passed away on Sunday, December 18th, 2022. He was born at home on April 27th, 1940 in Greenback, Tennessee to the late Hubert and Evelena Bowers. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force.

Ralph was raised by parents who worked a farm and he developed a stringent work ethic at a young age. He excelled academically and graduated Pleasant City High School in 1958. Ralph joined the military and proudly performed on clarinet and saxophone with the Air Force Band of Flight.

Ralph attended Wright State University while serving and continued his education while working full time and raising a family. Ralph earned a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Business Administration graduating Cum Laude in 1969. Ralph was an avid golfer, accomplished chess player and devoted Cleveland Browns fan.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his baby sister Eleanor Bowers; and brothers, Floyd Bowers and Carl Bowers.

Ralph is survived by his loving family including his sons, Michael Arland (Michelle) Bowers of Vandalia, Ohio, and Gregory Joseph Bowers of Miami Twp., Ohio; two grandchildren, Gregory Arland Bowers and Kimberly Bowers; sisters, Jean Cain of Stafford, VA, and Diana (Fred) Short of Cambridge, Ohio; and many other extended family members and friends.

His final resting place will be at Dayton National Cemetery where he will be buried with Military Honors for his service to his country on Thursday, April 27th, 2023 at 2:00pm.
