Elizabeth "Liz" Becknell, age 83, of Huber Heights, passed away peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on November 20, 2022.

Liz retired from her role as a cardiac catheterization technician performing procedures at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Dayton, Ohio after many years.

Born in 1939 in Albany, Kentucky, Liz was preceded in death by her parents: Herbert and Lizzie Guffey; her brother: Dee; and her husband: Ellory Becknell.

She is survived by her brother George Guffey (Mary Ellen); sons: Tony Aveyard (Kathi, Garet, Marie, Sofia), Kevin Aveyard and Jeff Aveyard (Danielle, Jessica).

The family would like to thank the staff of Ohio’s Hospice of Southwest Ohio, Heritage Springs Skilled Nursing Facility, Carespring of Cincinnati, and Danbury Senior Living in Huber Heights, Ohio for their kind, thoughtful care and concern given to Liz and the family. In addition we are grateful for all of the outstanding medical care provided by the Kettering Medical network in Kettering, Ohio, and UC Health West Chester Hospital in West Chester, Ohio.

A funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 29, 2022 at 10:30am at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton. Immediately following, Liz will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens in Tipp City, Ohio.
