1952 - 2022

Charley "Chuck" Loyd, age 69, of Dayton, Ohio, passed away on July 31, 2022. He was born in Dayton on December 14, 1952, to Clayton and Grace Loyd.

Chuck was preceded in death by his father, Clayton Loyd; his granddaughter, Abigail Fox; and sister in law, Susan Loyd. Chuck is survived by his cherished wife of 48 years, Claudette Loyd; his children: Charley Loyd Jr., Carolyn Loyd (Jason Fox), Cherie (Marvin) Napier; grandchildren: Haley Boyd, Aaron and Hannah Napier, and James and AJ Fox; his mother, Grace Loyd; and brothers: Mike (Patty) Loyd and Steve Loyd; close friend of many, many years, Jim Lykins; a very special uncle, Howard Henry; and numerous nieces, nephews, family and friends, especially his many hotrod buddies.

Chuck recently retired from Montgomery County after 18 years of service. He was a loving husband, father, papaw, brother, and son. Chuck enjoyed farming, gardening, attending car shows, and hanging out with his hotrod buddies. He could often be found working on his 1932 Ford Sedan that he's had since he was 15 years old. His greatest joy, however, was the time he spent with his family. He will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved him.

A visitation will be held Saturday, August 13, 2022 from 12:30pm to 1:30pm at the Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road, Dayton, funeral service at 1:30pm. Chuck will be laid to rest at Forest Hills Memorial Gardens following the service.

Those who are going to the cemetery are welcome to drive their hotrods in honor of Chuck. Let's give him one last cruise.
