In Loving Memory of

Charles E. Brooks was born on December 9, 1935 in Paris, KY to Charleston and Elizabeth Brooks. He transitioned on June 22, 2022.

Charles was a high school graduate of Western High School in Paris, KY. He went on to have a successful career in the U.S. Army, serving for 26 years and receiving many medals and commendations for his outstanding service. Upon his retirement he worked at the Veterans Administration for 6 years.

Charles was a faithful member of Maranatha Worship Centre until his health no longer permitted. He served as a deacon, assisted with the food ministry and was the Secretary for the Men’s Ministry. He and his wife shared the love of Jesus with the youth at the juvenile detention center of Dayton. Charles will be remembered for his quiet demeanor and for always having an encouraging word.

Charles had a passion for cooking. This passion allowed him to minister to and feed many souls. He loved making breakfast (pancakes), pumpkin cake and yeast rolls for his family and friends. These things will definitely be missed!

Charles loved to sing and was a member of several Male Chorus groups. He loved old school groups such as, The Five Blind Boys of Alabama, James Cleveland and the Mighty Clouds of Joy.

He was preceded in death by his parents. Brothers, William and Melvin Brooks and Sisters Gloria Dodge and Ruth Ann Howard. Left to cherish fond memories: His loving and devoted wife of 58 years, Margaret; Children, Keith (Karen), Kendall, Katrina (Reginald), Karmelita (Stevie); Grandchildren, Kendall Jr, Kyle, LaTisha, Naim, Dorian, Zion, Destini; Brothers, John and Evens Fields, James (Catherine), Wallace (Nicole), Clayton (Cathy) and Gary (Monica) Brooks; Sisters, Lynn Jones, Margaret (Ronald) Chambers and Laura Fields; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and the Maranatha Worship Centre Family.

A visitation will be held at Maranatha Worship Centre, 4501 Wolf Rd, Dayton, OH 45416 on Sunday, June 26, 2022 from 2:00 pm to 3:00 pm with a funeral service to follow at 3:00 pm. Graveside service will be on Tuesday, June 28, 2022 at 11:00 am at Dayton National Cemetery.
