1966 - 2021
Veteran of the United States Army, he served in Desert Storm with the 82nd Airborne Division. Tom received the Army Commendation Medal and Army Achievement Award 5 times. He also, served with NATO forces in Egypt.
Tom was an avid Buckeye fan. He loved his dog Hailey and cat Snugbug.
Tom was preceded in death by his mother, Linda Koogle.
He is survived by his father, Louis (Vicki) Ostendorf; brother, Richard Ostendorf; sisters, April (Matthew) Ostendorf, Amanda (Frank Napier) Ostendorf, Kristen Cherry and Colleen Ostendorf; nieces and nephews, Cory (Chelsey), Ariel (Ryan), Andrew, Cayden, Addison, Dakoda and Julian; special companion, Sharon Atkins and her son, Mathew (Terri); her daughter, Mindy (Shane) and her grandsons, Jaxin and Landen.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, July 28, 2021 from 11:30 am – 12:30 pm at the Newcomer Kettering Chapel, 3940 Kettering Blvd, Kettering, OH 45439. The service will follow at 12:30 pm, with Pastor Darrell Rose officiating.
Tom will be laid to rest at the Dayton National Cemetery with full military honors.
